High Court Denies Bail to Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, Arrest Follows
Previously, the AP High Court had dismissed the bail petitions filed by Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy. In addition to the EVM destruction case, three other cases were registered against him. He had been on interim anticipatory bail in these four cases until now. However, the bench canceled the earlier interim orders and rejected the four anticipatory bail petitions.
On the polling day, at the Palvaigattu polling booth, Pinnelli allegedly broke the EVM and attacked TDP agent Seshagiri Rao, attempting to murder him. He also allegedly abused a woman who questioned him about the incident. The next day, Pinnelli, along with his brother Venkata Ramireddy and followers, allegedly created a ruckus in Karamapudi, attacking and injuring a CI. The police have registered cases for all these incidents.
Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy filed four petitions seeking anticipatory bail. Arguments were concluded in the High Court on June 20, and the verdict was delivered today. Lawyer Ashwin Kumar argued on behalf of the police as Special Counsel, while lawyer Posani Venkateshwarlu represented the complainant, Namburi Seshagiri Rao.
