Former Minister Sidda Raghava Rao Resigns from YSRCP

Prominent businessman and former minister from Prakasam district, Sidda Raghava Rao, has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He sent his resignation letter to the party president, Jagan Mohan Reddy, today. In the letter, he mentioned that he is resigning from the party due to personal reasons. No further details were provided in the letter.

Sidda Raghava Rao served as the Forest Minister in Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet when the TDP coalition won in 2014. He was elected as the MLA from the Darsi constituency. However, in the 2019 elections, Sidda contested as the Ongole MP but was defeated. A year later, he joined the YSRCP along with his son, Sudheer.

In the upcoming elections, the Sidda family sought the Darsi seat but did not secure it. Instead, the YSRCP leadership proposed the Addanki, Markapuram, and Ongole assembly seats. However, Sidda Raghava Rao showed no interest in these positions.
