Amid the ongoing enforcement of the election code in Andhra Pradesh, the Election Commission (EC) has ordered a CID investigation into Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, son of the state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, and a key figure in the YSR Congress Party's social media operations. The EC's decision follows a complaint by TDP leader Varla Ramaiah accusing the YSR Congress of disseminating false propaganda against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

According to the complaint, the YSR Congress has been misleading voters and pension beneficiaries through IVRS calls, alleging that Chandrababu Naidu is responsible for the non-disbursement of pensions. Varla Ramaiah has claimed that these calls, orchestrated under the supervision of Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, were designed to misguide and incite animosity among the public.

Taking cognizance of the complaint, the EC has directed the Andhra Pradesh CID to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and submit a report promptly.
