Glass Tumbler Symbol Controversy: TDP files petition, EC responds in Court

Amaravati: The Jana Sena Party filed a petition requesting that the glass tumbler symbol not be allocated to anyone in areas where they are not contesting. It's known that the Andhra Pradesh High Court provided only partial relief in this matter.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) also filed an urgent petition concerning the glass tumbler symbol. The TDP expressed concern that allocating this symbol to candidates other than those of the Jana Sena could cause significant harm to their alliance candidates.
Today, the Andhra Pradesh High Court held a hearing on the TDP's petition. During this session, the Election Commission made critical remarks. It clarified that the glass tumbler symbol is a free symbol and that it cannot be reserved exclusively for the Jana Sena Party across Andhra Pradesh, as the time to do so has already passed.
The Election Commission revealed that the election process has already started, and symbols have been allocated. It stated that changing the allocated symbols to others at this stage is not feasible. If the request of the petitioner were to be granted, petitions would continue until the elections conclude. Subsequently, the Andhra Pradesh High Court adjourned the next hearing to tomorrow.
