Min Narayana asks Directorate employees to move to Guntur from Feb 20

Employees threaten to go on mass casual leave if forced to move immediately

Hyderabad, Feb 12, 2015: AP Municipal Administration Minister P.Narayana directed all employees including senior officers working in the AP Municipal Directorate in Hyderabad to start working at the temporary office arranged at Market Yard in Guntur from Feb 20. Narayana passed on oral instructions to this effect Wednesday evening. He said dormitories were also arranged at the Market Yard complex to provide accommodation to the employees. However , the staff at the Municipal directorate said it is not possible for them to move to Guntur at such short notice as their children's education is half way through in Hyderabad. They also threatened to go on mass casual leave if they are forced to move to Guntur immediately. Meanwhile, APNGOs Association president Ashok Babu told reporters at Nellore that Government must first provide accommodation for the employees to live in and then only shift the offices. "We need nearly 15,000 houses for all employees of Secretariat to move to the new capital city," he said , asking the government to spare the employees who own houses in Hyderabad from shifting to Guntur.
