Delhi Police Issue Notice to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Over Alleged Fake Video

Delhi Police have issued notices to the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, regarding a fake video involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The police have ordered an explanation from him by May 1. BJP leaders have alleged that Congress leaders created a fake video pertaining to reservations and attributed it to Amit Shah. Consequently, notices were sent to Revanth Reddy, who also serves as the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). Delhi police visited Gandhi Bhavan, directing Revanth Reddy to attend an inquiry with his phone on May 1. The police claim that Revanth Reddy posted the morphed video from an undisclosed platform.
The controversy revolves around a video purportedly showing Amit Shah planning to cancel reservations, which the Congress Party has been circulating virally. Complaints were lodged by the BJP in Delhi, Hyderabad, and other states, leading the Delhi Special Cell to register a case and issue summons not only to Revanth Reddy but also to several Congress leaders and their Twitter handles across multiple states.
The Special Cell's intelligence unit has taken up the investigation to ascertain the originators of this fake video, which has reportedly emerged from Congress Twitter handles in both Telangana and Jharkhand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already warned that those responsible for creating such deepfake videos will be dealt with appropriately.
