BRS MLC Kavitha arrested by CBI in Delhi Liquor scam

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla in connection with the Delhi liquor case. She is currently under judicial custody in Tihar Jail as part of an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case. The ED had previously taken her into custody for interrogation. The CBI will now question her in Tihar Jail.
Last year, the CBI had interrogated her at her residence in Hyderabad. The agency obtained permission from the Rouse Avenue Court to interrogate her again and took her into custody today.
The CBI is considering requesting custody of Kavitha for ten days. Meanwhile, Kavitha is expected to appear in court on the 16th of this month for a regular bail hearing.
