Former MP and Actress Jayaprada Expresses Desire to Contest from Andhra Pradesh

BJP senior leader and former MP, actress Jayaprada, recently revealed her wish to contest in the elections from Andhra Pradesh (AP). "It is my desire to contest from AP, but everything depends on the party's decision," she stated. Additionally, Jayaprada mentioned her willingness to campaign for NDA candidates as a star campaigner. She shared these thoughts with the media during her visit to Tirumala on her birthday.

However, analysts speculate that Jayaprada's chances of entering the fray from AP are slim. Currently, BJP is in alliance with TDP and Jana Sena in AP. The coalition has already announced its candidates for the upcoming Assembly and Parliamentary elections. As part of the alliance, BJP will contest in 6 Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats, while TDP candidates will compete in 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats. Jana Sena has fielded its candidates in 2 Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats. The elections for both Lok Sabha and Assembly are scheduled to be held simultaneously on May 13, with the results to be announced on June 4.

In the meantime, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu declared on Wednesday that his party, in collaboration with Jana Sena and BJP, has formed a strong alliance. He confidently stated that they would counter the misdeeds of YSRCP and emerge victorious in the state.
