Chandrababu calls for uninterrupted pension distribution amid electoral code impact in Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati: Due to the impact of the electoral code, the distribution of pensions has been delayed in Andhra Pradesh. The Election Commission's instructions to keep volunteers away from the distribution process are cited as the reason for this delay.
While YSRCP leaders accuse TDP leaders of hindering pension delivery, TDP leaders counter that despite knowing the EC's orders, YSRCP is deliberately delaying pension distribution without making alternative arrangements.
In this context, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu responded. He conducted a teleconference with TDP leaders and booth level workers this afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu criticized Jagan for denying pension beneficiaries their rights for political gains. He reiterated TDP's promise to provide a pension of Rs. 4,000 upon coming to power and assured that any missed pensions over the last two months would also be disbursed.
He expressed indignation that the current government is showcasing cruelty even as it loses power, emphasizing that TDP leaders should not relent until the pensions are delivered. He advised meeting with district collectors to ensure pensions are delivered directly to the beneficiaries' homes.
Chandrababu clarified that volunteers would continue under the TDP government, ensuring they face no issues and receive skill development training for better wages.
He urged the public to hold Jagan accountable and criticized him for allegedly misappropriating Rs. 13,000 crores to contractors even after the electoral code's implementation. He demanded a disclosure of the amounts paid to each contractor over the past 15 days.
