Sharmila Vows to Contest Elections from Kadapa if Party Decides

APCC President YS Sharmila criticized Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, who is a cousin of Chief Minister Jagan, for not bringing any significant development to Kadapa. She questioned why Avinash Reddy failed to achieve the establishment of the Kadapa Steel Plant. Sharmila declared her readiness to contest from any constituency as directed by the party leadership, affirming her willingness to compete at any level and even from Kadapa if the party decides so. During a meeting with Kadapa leaders at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada, she made these remarks.

Sharmila questioned Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on why he always focuses on personal gains instead of addressing public issues, stating that the people are ready to send them home. She demanded that Jagan and Sajjala explain why Avinash Reddy did not fight for the Kadapa Steel Factory. She also mentioned that they have received 1,500 applications expressing interest to contest in the elections and that a list of Congress candidates will be announced soon after the applications are reviewed and surveys are conducted, pending the approval from the party headquarters.
