Hyderabad: Danam Nagender, who won the Khairatabad MLA seat on behalf of the BRS party, has bid farewell to the party, a fact that has become well-known. In the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he joined the Congress. Following this, BRS has demanded that Danam be disqualified under the party defection law.

BRS leaders, having taken an appointment, visited Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar's residence yesterday evening. Among those who visited the Speaker's residence were Maganti Gopinath, Kaleru Venkatesh, Padi Kaushik Reddy, and Mutha Gopal.

The Speaker had given them an appointment for 6 PM yesterday. However, even by 8:30 PM, they did not get to meet the Speaker. With the Speaker not present at his residence, the BRS leaders made phone calls, which went unanswered. This led to significant dissatisfaction among them regarding the Speaker's behavior, criticizing that he did not meet them due to pressure from Revanth. They termed it appalling that the Speaker did not meet them despite giving an appointment. They also mentioned their intention to attempt to meet the Speaker on Monday.
