ED Clarifies Stance on Summons to BRS MLC Kavitha in Special CBI Court

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) lawyer stated in the special CBI court at Rouse Avenue that they had only mentioned issuing summons to BRS MLC Kavitha within the next ten days on September 15 last year, and it was also clarified that an exemption from the investigation could not be given. ED officials arrested Kavitha yesterday and brought her to Delhi, where she was presented in front of the special CBI court at Rouse Avenue on Saturday. Arguments were made by senior advocate Vikram Choudhari on behalf of Kavitha, while ED's side was represented by N.K. Matta and Joyab Husein.

The ED lawyer urged the court not to consider the stories circulating in the media and reiterated their previous statement about the issuance of summons within ten days and the impossibility of granting an exemption from the investigation. They also highlighted that a favorable order should not be indefinitely extended and applying others' orders to oneself was incorrect.

The lawyer further stated that interim orders do not apply universally. They mentioned that the Supreme Court had not issued any orders that would constitute a violation of the court or necessitated severe actions. It was reminded that Kavitha had only made a request to the Supreme Court regarding various matters.
