Vasireddy Padma Resigns as Chairperson of Women's Commission

Amaravati: As general elections approach, political dynamics in Andhra Pradesh are heating up, marked by frequent party switching that has created a state of confusion about who will end up in which party. In this context, Vasireddy Padma, who has been a trusted ally of Jagan and served as the Chairperson of the Women's Commission, has resigned from her post. Her sudden resignation has sparked intense discussion in the state's political circles.

Although Vasireddy Padma had aspired to contest in the previous elections, political equations prevented her from receiving a ticket, leading her to the position of Women's Commission Chairperson instead. Having stood by Jagan and effectively countered criticism until now, her resignation is rumored to be due to not securing a party ticket once again.

It is reported that Padma hoped to contest from either Mylavaram or Jaggayyapeta in the upcoming elections. However, her resignation is said to be due to not receiving a ticket again. Yet, Padma's stance seems to differ. She claims her resignation is aimed at working towards re-electing Jagan as Chief Minister. According to her supporters, she resigned because, while holding a constitutional position, she could not participate in political party activities, and she wanted to resign to engage more closely with the people during the elections.
