Chief Minister Jagan Releases Investment Subsidy for Farmers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has released investment subsidies for farmers who suffered losses due to the Mekunu cyclone and other calamities last year. A total of Rs. 1294.58 crores has been credited to the accounts of approximately 11.59 lakh affected farmers from the Chief Minister's camp office in Tadepalli on Wednesday by the press of a button.

Speaking later, the Chief Minister mentioned that their government stands as support and aid to the farmers affected by the Kharif crop failure and the Mekunu cyclone, aiming to ensure that farmers do not suffer losses. The goal of the government is to support every farmer without discrimination and corruption, ensuring timely assistance to everyone eligible. The government also took steps to purchase damaged grains due to disasters, purchasing a total of 3.25 lakh tonnes of such grain.

The Chief Minister highlighted that nearly Rs. 1300 crores are being provided under the input subsidy scheme to farmers who suffered losses due to rainfall deficiency and cyclone. For the first time in 58 months, Rs. 7802 crores have been disbursed to farmers under the free insurance scheme. He also noted that in the state, 63% of farmers own less than half a hectare of land, and 87% have less than one hectare, emphasizing the government's goal to prevent any loss to farmers due to disasters. The government assures to respond immediately to any difficulties faced by farmers, supporting them in their time of need.
