Soumya Shetty, who acted in several small films, was caught in a case involving the theft of gold and cash. The Visakhapatnam police arrested her in Goa.

The incident unfolded in Visakhapatnam, where Prasad, a retired postal employee, lived with his family, including a daughter who is active on social media. Soumya Shetty became acquainted with Prasad's daughter through social media, claiming to be an Instagram influencer, and frequently visited their home.

One day, a kilogram of gold and a significant amount of cash were stolen from Prasad's home. Following the theft, Soumya Shetty ceased her visits to their house. The disappearance of a large quantity of gold and money led Prasad's family to file a complaint with the police, expressing suspicion towards Soumya Shetty. This prompted the police to initiate an investigation focusing on her.

The initial investigation by the police revealed Soumya Shetty's location in Goa. With the cooperation of the Goa police, the Visakhapatnam police apprehended her and brought her back. The investigation revealed that she had stolen the gold from Prasad's house and was enjoying herself in Goa.

Soumya Shetty, a junior artist, had previously acted in movies like 'The Trip' and 'Yours Lovingly'. Accustomed to a lavish lifestyle, Soumya Shetty resorted to theft after failing to secure further acting opportunities.
