Jagan's Disproportionate Assets Case Postponed

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has extended the deadline for the investigation into the case of disproportionate assets involving Jagan. It has directed the CBI court to resolve the discharge petitions by April 30. The court issued these orders on Thursday, instructing the CBI court to examine 130 discharge petitions filed by Jagan and other accused, seeking exemption from the disproportionate assets cases filed against them.

This directive comes as the investigation into these cases has been prolonged, prompting the Telangana High Court to intervene. The High Court has advised the CBI court to complete the investigation and deliver its judgment on the discharge petitions by April 30.

During the proceedings related to cases involving public representatives, the High Court had previously ordered the CBI court on December 15 to conclude the examination of discharge petitions in 20 cases related to Jagan within two months.

The CBI court was instructed to review a significant number of records and collect testimonies from witnesses. The court noted that the investigation had reached its final stages, with approximately 13,000 pages of dictation prepared. Upon request for additional time, the Telangana High Court granted permission.
