Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy Responds to Disqualification
Amaravati: It is known that the Assembly Speaker Thammineni Seetharam has disqualified 8 MLAs from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for defecting to other parties. Among those disqualified are YSRCP's victorious Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Undavalli Sridevi, and from the TDP, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Maddala Giri, Karanam Balaram, and Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar. The Speaker imposed this disqualification under the anti-defection law.
On the other side, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy made interesting comments responding to his disqualification. He stated that the disqualification does not affect them in any way. He criticized the YSRCP government, saying they achieved nothing with this entire episode. He mentioned that they were already suspended from YSRCP a year ago.
He argued that after being expelled from the party, the YSRCP government had no moral right to disqualify them. If the Jagan government truly had integrity, they would have immediately disqualified the four TDP MLAs who joined YSRCP, he claimed. He expressed frustration that they were suspended for fighting for the issues of their constituencies and refuted allegations of engaging in anti-party activities as baseless.
