TTD Governing Council removes honorary chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Governing Council has taken action against Ramana Deekshitulu, the Honorable Chief Priest, announcing his removal from the institution. TTD Chairman Karunakar Reddy released a statement on Monday regarding this decision. Chairman Karunakar Reddy explained that Ramana Deekshitulu made severe comments about the TTD, the government, the Ahobilam Math, priests, and Jeeyars. 

The Governing Council discussed Deekshitulu's comments in a meeting held on Monday and decided that actions should be taken against him based on the severity of his remarks. Following the council's decision, orders were issued to remove Deekshitulu from TTD, Chairman Karunakar Reddy stated.

Ramana Deekshitulu recently accused of unsocial activities happening in Tirumala. A video related to these allegations went viral on social media. He claimed that Christianity is spreading rapidly in Tirumala, and with CM Jagan being a Christian, the religion is also spreading within the temple premises. Deekshitulu criticized that many staff members in the temple, including EO Dharmareddy, are Christians. 

He also criticized the burial of EO's son instead of cremation, which sparked a sensation across the state when the video went viral on social media. Following this, a case was also registered against Ramana Deekshitulu at the Tirumala police station.
