Revanth Reddy directs police to retain popular Kumari Aunty's food stall
Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has intervened in the matter of the removal of Kumari Aunty's food stall. He has instructed the police not to dismantle the stall and ensured that it continues to operate at its current location. Revanth Reddy has also directed officials to make alternative arrangements for managing traffic congestion in the area. This decision was communicated by CM Revanth Reddy's Chief Public Relations Officer, Ayodhya Reddy, through a tweet on Wednesday.
The issue came to the forefront when the police decided to close Kumari Aunty's food stall citing traffic disruptions. Kumari Aunty, who gained significant popularity on social media, faced the threat of losing her livelihood due to this decision. Netizens extensively protested against the police's decision and showed strong support for Kumari Aunty. The matter eventually reached the Chief Minister's office, prompting a response from Revanth Reddy.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that the Congress government stands in support of the poor and marginalized communities. He asserted that the government aims to assist self-employed individuals rather than impede their means of livelihood. Following this, he issued orders to officials to ensure that Kumari Aunty's food stall continues its operations as usual at the same location.
