Fate of 3000 Engg students hanging in air

Hyderabad, Feb 1, 2015: The fate of nearly 3000 students is hanging in the air as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University of Hyderabad has cancelled affiliation of 807 first-year courses including some B.Pharmacy courses of 143 colleges in Telangana on Saturday as they do not have enough faculty and basic infrastructure for running the courses. The decision was taken on the recommendations of an expert committee which had inspected 163 engineering and pharmacy colleges. The University has issued a notification giving the details of the disaffiliated colleges. It said the students would be given an option to join the other colleges to continue their first year courses. The University has also given 45 days to the disaffiliated colleges to improve the facilities to run second, third and fourth year course.
