APSCHE accounts: AP to file defamation case

Hyderabad, Jan 31: Andhra Pradesh government is getting ready to file a defamation case against State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) for freezing the accounts of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) on the directions of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). Disclosing this to media persons, AP Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao alleged that the bank had frozen the accounts on the orders of the Telangana government. The minister said the APSCHE has in all deposits and cash worth Rs 120 crore in four different banks, i.e. Andhra Bank, Canara Bank, State Bank of India and State Bank of Hyderabad. Meanwhile, TSCHE officials claimed that APSCHE was in the process of siphoning off the money, which ought to have actually been shared between the two warring Telugu states.
