Students escape with minor injuries as bus plunges into canal

Ongole, Jan 30, 2015: Several students had miraculous escape when a school bus drifted and plunged into a dried up canal at Daggupadu in Karamchedu Mandalam of Prakasam district this morning. Some of the students received minor injuries in the incident. Reports said that the driver of the bus lost control of the wheel after one of its tires had burst. As a result, the bus had barged into the canal slightly injuring some of the students. Locals said the students had escaped with minor injuries as there was no water in the canal. "Normally the canal would be full of water. But there is no water now. Otherwise, it would have been a major accident," they said.
