IBM to rebalance workforce, jobs in India may be hit
Hyderabad, Jan 28: In a major development, IBM is likely to do a "workforce rebalancing" soon, according to the official blog on the company's website.
According to reports, the technology giant due to hefty annual restructuring charges during the last seven years, the company has witnessed workforce reductions of between 6,500 and 21,500 every year.
Reports suggest that the company's "workforce rebalancing" plan could impact staff in India too.
IBM currently employs at least 1.3 lakh staff in India.
The workforce reductions are due to the company's sales slump triggered by changes in software and commercial technology, reports said.
