Hyderabad areas rocked by tremors

Hyderabad, Jan 24, 2015 :Several areas of Hyderabad city including Jubilee Hills, Towlichauki, Rajendra Nagar, Pahadi Shariff and some old city areas have experienced mild tremors last night sending shivers down the spine of residents. The first tremors were felt around 10.40 PM followed by several tremors. Residents of the Jubilee Hills area told reporters that they had felt the tremors for about five to seven seconds accompanied by peculiar buzzing sound. NGRI scientists , who recorded the tremors, said that tremors were the result of a shallow 1.8 magnitude earthquake occurred at Budvel in Kadapa district minutes before. There is no cause for worry, NGRI said in a statement.
