Centre's film on Komaram Bheem to be directed by Allani Sridhar
Hyderabad, Jan 20, 2015: The Central Government has decided to make a feature film in Hindi on Telangana warrior Komaram Bheem who had led the Gonds' struggle in the backward Adilabad district against the repressive regime of the Nizam in the 1940s.
Reports said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown special interest on the subject and directed the Information and Brocading Ministry to take steps to produce the film on Komaram Bheem.
The responsibility of making the movie has been entrusted to Tollywood director Allani Sridhar who had earlier made a Telugu film on the warrior. Sridhar is from Telangana.
The Allani Sridhar-directed 'Komaram Bheem' had won two Nandi awards in 1990, one for best direction for a debut film and another for best feature film on national integration.
After the film is made in Hindi, it is likely to be dubbed into several Indian languages, reports said.
