President tells govt to avoid ordinance route

New Delhi, Jan 19: President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Monday told the NDA government to find a workable solution and avoid the frequent ordinances route. The President also rapped the opposition parties and told them to avoid frequent disruptions of the parliament sessions. Acknowledging that Indian Constitution provides for promulgation of ordinance, the President said the ordinance route should not be taken up for legislation under normal situations. He said the entire political establishment should put their heads together and come up with a workable solution for the smooth functioning of the parliament.
