Hyderabad engineer arrested for 'having links' with IS
Hyderabad, Jan 16: Hyderabad Police on Friday arrested a 22-year-old engineer named Salman Moinuddin at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad near Hyderabad for reportedly having links with Islamic State, according to sources.
Sources said, Salman, who belongs to Asif Nagar locality in the city, did his MS engineering course at a university in Huston, United States.
Police confirm that Salman had already undergone IS training while in US, sources said.
He is said to have confessed to the police that he was planning to join the terrorist group, sources said.
It is reported that Salman was planing to travel to Dubai along with his British-born girlfriend and then was planing to fly out to Syria, police said.
