KCR help line flooded with 3000 calls on initial day

Hyderabad, Jan 13, 2015:After the Telangana Government had rectified the KCR helpline, it received more than 3000 calls on the first day on Monday from the people but most calls were related to pensions, scholarships and houses. Chief Minister KCR had announced a toll free helpline number on Sunday during his Warangal tour saying people can call on 040-23454071 to lodge complaints against corrupt officers. However, confusion prevailed as there was no provision for recording complaints related to corruption as the given number's IVRS system was dealing with Arogya-Sri related complaints only. The mistakes were rectified and special assistants were deployed immediately to receive the complaints. At the end of the day. more than 3000 complaints were received by the call center but there were less number of complaints related to corrupt officers. Most of the people called had sought houses, ration cards, pensions and other benefits.
