Court files suo moto case against officials over bus accident

Anantapuram, Jan 9, 2015: Anantapuram District Court has suo moto taken up the issue of road accident at Penukonda in the district in which 16 persons, mostly students, were killed and several others injured. The court , after registering a case, issued notices to the R and B, RTC, transport and police officials asking them to appear before the court on Jan 24 for a hearing. The court was angered after reports appeared in news papers that officials have not taken up any measures on the Madakasira-Penukonda route to prevent accidents. The court was also aghast that officials were permitting vehicular traffic on the route where the accident took place as usual with out taking any protective measures.
