Now you can pay without swiping your debit/credit cards
Mumbai, Jan 8: The largest private bank in India, ICICI Bank, has introduced the country's first contactless credit and debit cards, which use the near-field communication (NFC) technology, to help a person pay by waving his card near any merchant terminal.
There is no need to swipe the card any more.
The NFC technology gives customers enhanced convenience of security and speed when compared to traditional cards.
The NFC-enabled cards will complete a transaction in a secured and a faster manner as they remain with the customer.
To begin with, ICICI has introduced NFC-enabled cards in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Gurgaon. The bank has already installed more than 1,200 PoS machines in these cities to accept contactless payments.
