Min Smriti Irani: I worked as servant maid 15 years ago

New Delhi, Jan 7, 2015: Union Human Resources Minister Smruti Irani disclosed here on Wednesday that she worked as a servant maid in a hotel when she landed in Mumbai 15 years ago. Speaking at the state education ministers' conference, the Union Minister said the 'Make in India' dream would be fulfilled only when one respects the profession of others. "Whatever one does, he or she should be respected. Even a daily labourer should be respected," she said adding she worked as a servant maid in a hotel 15 years ago in Mumbai. "I cleaned the vessels and I don't feel ashamed to reveal this," she told the ministers of various states.
