Police set up SIT to investigate Sunanda Pushkar case

New Delhi, Jan 7: Police here on Wednesday are said to have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the mystery behind the death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor. Speaking to news persons, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said they have formed an SIT to investigate the Sunanda Pushkar case. Earlier, the police had registered a murder case after the latest medical report had stated that the death was unnatural and due to poisoning. The police are yet to name any suspect. Bassi said as per the medical report poison was either injected or fed orally to Sunanda. He then added that if necessary, Sashi Tharoor could be called for questioning.
