Supreme Court snubs Dr Swamy in Jaya case

New Delhi, Jan 6, 2015: BJP leader and complainant Dr. Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday sought permission from the Supreme Court to allow him to act as deemed public prosecutor before the special bench of the Karnatak High Court hearing the appeal of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalita. Swamy told the apex court of the country that Karnataka High Court has not allowed him to put forth his arguments in the hearing of the Jayalalita appeal. However, the Supreme Court has asked Swamy to obtain the permission of Karnataka High Court first in the matter. On the directions of the Supreme Court, a special bench of the Karnataka High Court is hearing the appeal of Jayalalita who had challenged her conviction in her disproportionate assets case.
