Munugode bypoll tomorrow, elaborate security arrangements in place

Munugode, November 2: All arrangements are in place for Munugode bypoll to be held tomorrow (Thursday), to avoid any untoward incidents. Campaigning for the bypoll was concluded on Tuesday. 
 
The EC had appointed 50 flying squads to stop liquor and cash distribution to the voters to lure them. About 100 check posts were set up in Munugode and 3,366 police personnel and 20 central security was also deployed. The EC ordered the non-locals to leave the area. The election will be held from 7 am to 7 pm on Thursday.
 
1,192 polling staff are on duty at 298 polling centres. A total of 2,41,855 voters will cast their vote that will decide the fate of the candidates in the fray. The three major political parties – TRS, BJP and Congress – took the bypoll as prestigious and held vigorous campaigning. About two months, Munugode was reverberated with poll campaigning.
 
Munugode bypoll was necessitated after sitting Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned and joined BJP. He is seeking reelection.
