TCS to layoff up to 5000 'non-performers'
New Delhi, Jan 5: India's IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revealed that it has decided to lay off 3000 to 5000 non-performing employees in the new year.
Meanwhile, senior TCS officials had been firefighting reports that the company intended to mass layoff its employees.
Rejecting these reports as rumours, a senior TCS official said that 1 to 1.5 percent of 'non-performing' employees were asked to go.
He, however, denied claims that TCS is firing 25,000 employees.
