TDP leaders under house arrest in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, October 28: Police restrictions are continuing on TDP protests in Vizag over illegal constructions, diggings, Daspalla lands and encroachments of poor people’s lands. Police prevented the TDP leader on Thursday and on Friday morning they placed several party senior leaders under house arrest.
It should be noted here that Telugu Desam Party launched protests at six places against the illegal activities on Rushikonda. After the TDP announced of visiting Rushikonda on Friday, police were deployed at several places in Visakhapatnam. TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishan Babu and several corporators were placed under house arrest. Police were deployed at party office and also at the houses of MLC Duvvarapu Rama Rao and parliamentary party president Palla Srinivas. Party district vice-president Byreddy Pothana Reddy and Botta Venkata Ramana were arrested.
Bheemili Police prevented party Srikakulam district president Kuna Ravi Kumar and Palakonda party in-charge Nimmaka Jayakrishna at Tagarapuvalasa and shifted them to police station. About 100 police were deployed at Vizag TDP office.
Meanwhile, regular commuters and passengers faced problems due to police restrictions. Police have set up barricades in the routes leading to Rushikonda and checking all vehicles. As police were stopping buses and vehicles, people have to carry their luggage and children.
