Sekhar Kammula on DAV school incident: Kids' safety should not be compromised

Hyderabad: The sexual assault of an LKG girl at DAV School in Hyderabad moved people across the state. The heinous act was condemned by all and in this context, renowned director Shekhar Kammula, who is well known for directing sensitive subjects, reacted to the incident and put a post on social media. It is a coincidence that in his recent movie ‘Love Story’ starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi he touched sexual abuse of girls.

“A four-year-old girl studying in a DAV school was sexually assaulted by the principal's car driver. This is a very bad incident. I don't know what to say  I am helpless. I cannot imagine the agony of that baby. I really appreciate the parents of that girl, who are fighting bravely.”

“Children's safety should not be compromised. Such things should not happen in modern society. Everyone should wake up and create an atmosphere of security. If we compromise on the safety of our children, we will create a terrible society," Shekhar Kammula said.

Shekhar Kammula's 'Love Story' is about sexual harassment. In this movie, he showed how relatives and neighbours sexually abuse girls. It may be recalled that an LKG girl was raped at DAV School in Banjara Hills Road No. 14. The principal of that school, Madhavi’s driver, Rajini Kumar sexually abused the girl for two months. After the news came to light, the recognition of the school was cancelled by the government.
