Munugode bypoll: EC fires on RO over symbol change

Hyderabad, October 20: The Central Election Commission (ECI) fired on Munugode Returning Officer over changing the ‘road roller’ symbol allotted to Yuga Tulasi party candidate K Siva Kumar. The EC directed the RO to revise the list of symbols allotted to the candidates of Munugode bypoll.
 
The EC directed the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to seek explanation from the RO about the reasons for changing the symbol and to submit the report by Thursday evening. It issued a gazette notification by allotting the road roller symbol to Siva Kumar. Ballot papers also will be printed anew with the changed symbols.
 
It should be noted here that Yuga Tulasi party candidate Siva Kumar complained to the EC that initially road roller symbol was allotted to him and then changed.
