Bridge collapses in Asifabad

Asifabad, October 19: A major disaster was averted as the bridge on Peddavagu near Andavelli in Asifabad district was collapsed on Tuesday midnight. Since it was midnight, there were no vehicles passing on the bridge at that tiem.
 
This stalled transportation to Kagaznagar and Dahegam mandals. Also, transportation to about 52 villages was cut off.
 
Heavy rains are continuously lashing the district for the past few days. Due to the rains, the bridge sinks. As the bridge is in dangerous state, the officials have stopped vehicular traffic in this route. 
 
In this backdrop, all of a sudden the bridge collapsed on Tuesday night. Since many villages were cut off from the mainland. Locals requested the officials to construct the collapsed bridge at the earliest.
