Billa starring Prabhas-Krishnam Raju getting ready for re-release on Oct 23
Hyderabad: 'Billa' starring Pan India star Prabhas is getting ready for re-release. Anushka, Namitha mesmerised the audience while Rebel Star Krishnam Raju played an important role in the film, which was directed by Meher Ramesh under the banner of Gopi Krishna Movies.
The makers are planning to re-release this stylish action movie in a 4K version on October 23 to mark Prabhas' birthday. On the occasion, the makers held a media conference on Saturday. Actors and technicians, who worked in the movie 'Billa', attended the event.
Praseedha Uppalapati, daughter of Krishnam Raju, said, "I have many memories with this movie. This is a special movie of Gopi Krishna movies with daddy and brother acting together. This movie is close to our hearts. It is a pleasure to re-release this film again on the occasion of my brother's birthday on October 23. We are going to give the proceeds from this movie to the UK-India Diabetic Foot Foundation. My father is a partner in this foundation. Through this foundation, we are providing treatment to severe diabetes patients. We will continue the foundation programmes.”
Meher Ramesh, the director of the film Billa said, "When I wanted to make a film with Prabhas, I told an original story to Prabhas stating that the budget would be less for that movie. Similarly, I told ‘Billa’ that would cost more, but Prabahs said let's make a stylish action film on the Indian screen and went ahead with Billa.”
“So we started this movie under the banner of Gopi Krishna Movies. Krishnam Raju garu supported more than we expected for this movie. If we ask for two helicopters, he used to say let us bring four. Also, we bought cars for some action scenes and a few cars were smashed. It was Prabhas's idea to cast Krishnan Raju garu in this film.”
He said, “Darling, it is the fan's wish that Pedananna and I act together. So, he acted in the film. Actually, we wanted to invite him as the chief guest for this 4K show, but unfortunately, Krishnam Raju garu missed us. We shot and released this film in just four-and-a-half months. The film collected the best first-day collections in Prabhas' career. Mani Sharma's music is another attraction of this movie. All the team worked with passion. We are releasing the movie worldwide with the best quality.”
