'Word of mouth' real review, opines Akkineni Nagarjuna while promoting 'The Ghost'

Hyderabad: “Content is not the only thing that matters to attract the audience to theatres, but pre and post-production are also very important for a movie. Not only this, but the teaser and trailer of the movie should also be good. If they are good...at least on the first day, the audience will come to the theatres,'' opined Akkineni Nagarjuna.

His film 'The Ghost'  will be released on October 5 on Dasara. So, ahead movie's release, the film unit takes part in promotions. As part of that, 'The Ghost' unit spoke to ABN Andhra Jyothi. "Now while watching the movie, some people are giving minute-to-minute reviews. Do you think all these will have an impact on the film?

Nagarjuna said, "It depends on whose review it is. For me, now if I want to watch a movie, I don't even go to IMD, or Bookmyshows and see the first 100 reviews to decide. After getting 10,000, 15,000 reviews, then I believe those reviews. How can I trust someone's review like that?

He further said, “But after watching the trailer, they are deciding whether it is hit or flop and after the morning show, the fate of the movie will be clear. But many movies are playing well. Almost 80 per cent of the audience believes in word of mouth. After watching the movie, the audience calls their friends and says about the movie, and in my opinion that is the real review for them. That is called 'word of mouth'. There is no review beyond that. The rest of the reviews may help the movie or may not. Those reviews are of no use for good movies. 'Word of mouth' is the best review for a good movie. This is not what I am saying, it is already proven truth. So, 'word of mouth' is very important here.”
