TTD assets valued at over Rs 85,000 cr
Tirupati, September 25: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has 960 properties across the country worth Rs 85,705 crore. TTD Trust Board chairman YV Subba Reddy said that a white paper, elaborating TTD’s properties would be released soon, like every year. He informed that about 114 properties were sold from 1974 to 2014 and nothing was sold after that.
The Chairman said that they are changing VIP break darshan slots in view of the increasing pilgrim rush. At present, VIP break darshan is from 6 am to 9.30 am. This will be changed to 10 am to 12 pm after Brahmotsavams conclude. Devotees with protocol and Srvani also will be allowed at these same timings. The chairman added that they are considering to reduce the quota of VIP and Srivani darshan.
Chairman Subba Reddysaid that they have decided to shift accommodation allotment system from Tirumala to Tirupati. If pilgrims don’t get rooms at Tirumala, they can book rooms in Tirupati and those, who don’t need accommodation , can directly come to Tirumala and have Lord darshan.
The Chairman said that they are offering prasadam to Lord Venkateswara with organic farming produce. The TTD made a pact with MarkFed to purchase 12 types of produce and ready to pay 15 to 20% more than the normal price to the farmers, he informed.
