Three-storey building collapses in Kadapa

Kadapa, September 23: A three-storey building in cooperative colony in Kadapa collapsed all of a sudden on Wednesday midnight. There are no casualities. Rs 10 lakh property loss was estimated.
 
According to locals, building owner Venkata Rama Raju had vacated the tenants in the ground floor and took up repairs since the building is old. Subbarayudu and his wife Swapna along with their three children are staying in the first floor. While Sudarshan Raju and Mounika along with their children are staying in the second floor. 
 
At around 12.30 am on Wednesday, the tenants on the second floor heard sounds suddenly and came out. They hurriedly came out of the building, which was already collapsed. The tenants on the first floor were trapped in the house as the doors got jammed. 
 
Fire fighting staff and police removed window sill and rescued them. Locals felt that the accident happened due to drilling for repair works.
