Muslim couple donates Rs 1.02 crore to TTD

Tirumala, September 21: In a rare gesture, a Chennai-based Muslim couple has donated Rs 1.02 crore to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). 
 
The couple – Subeena Banu and Abdul Ghani – presented the cheque to TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy at Srivari temple in Tirumala on Tuesday. Of this amount, Rs 15 lakh is for SV Annaprasadam Trust and Rs 87 lakh towards new furniture and utensils in the kitchen at Sri Padmavathi Guest House.
 
Later, TTD priests rendered veda asirvachanam and the officials offered prasadam to Abdul Ghani and his family members. 
 
Meanwhile, about 67,276 devotees had Lord Venkateswara Swamy darshan on Monday. The temple hundi received an income of Rs 5.71 crore.
