Dharma Reddy eligible for TTD EO post, HC declares
Amaravathi, September 16: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday dismissed the writ petition challenging the appointment of AV Dharma Reddy as TTD Executive Officer.
Navin Kumar Reddy, a resident of Tirupati, filed a writ of quo warranto stating that Dharma Reddy belonged to Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES) and the post held by him was not equivalent to the post of District Collector.
The HC clarified that Dharma Reddy had worked as Joint Secretary in IDES, which is equivalent to secretary post in State service and at the same time considered as higher than Collector post. Hence, Dharma Reddy could be appointed as TTD EO, since he is having all qualifications to be appointed in the post higher than the District Collector.
According to Endowments Act section 107, any officer belonging to Central and State services including all India services could be appointed as EO.
