Loan app harassment: CM Jagan enquires about kids of couple ended lives

East Godavari, September 8: Unable to bear constant harassment by agents of a loan app firm over mobile for delay in payment of a personal loan, a couple, Durgaprasad and Ramyalakshmi, committed suicide in a lodge room in Rajahmundry by consuming pesticide-laced drink on intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. But the incident came to light on Wednesday (September 7).
 
Durgaprasad used to work as a Zomato delivery boy while Ramya stitched clothes on a sewing machine at home. Both left their daughters aged 3 and 2 at relatives’ house before taking extreme step. Coming to know that kids became orphan because of suicide by parents, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to East Godavari District Collector K. Madhavilatha over phone.
 
The CM directed the Collector to make arrangements for taking care of Tejaswi Nagasai and Likhita Sri. Also, he instructed Madhavilatha to deposit Rs 5 lakh each on kids’ name.
