Attack on TDP leader Chennupati not politically motivated: CP Kanthi Rana
Vijayawada, September 5: Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata clarified that the attack on TDP State secretary Chennupati Gandhi was not politically motivated but took place due to sudden provocation. He further said that there was no evidence to suggest that Gandhi’s eye injury was due to poking an iron rod. LV Prasad hospital doctors submitted a report, stating that the eye was injured due to beating with hands.
The CP said that they have arrested two persons, who belong to YSRCP. He said that a case was registered under IPC 326 and if proved guilty the accused will be sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
Meanwhile, TDP leaders alleged that it was a preplanned murder attempt on Gandhi. They said that YSRCP leaders brought some people from Krishna Lanka 10 days ago. These people stayed in a ground near Gandhi house and conducted reccee.
