WG dist: Businessman’s grandson kidnapped for Rs 1 crore freed, one arrested
West Godavari, September 2: Agastya, grandson of prominent businessman Gudivada Sai in Narsapuram town, was kidnapped on Thursday evening while he was returning home on a cycle from karate coaching centre.
Locals saw three kidnappers forcibly taking away Agastya in a car and informed his family members. Immediately, they registered an oral complaint with concerned police station. Narsapuram CI Srinivas Yadav and SI Sudhakar Reddy alerted police stations in West Godavari district and neighbouring districts.
Meanwhile, kidnappers demanded Gudivada Sai to pay Rs 1 crore for release of Agastya. Based on mobile location of kidnappers, police found that they have entered into Krishna district. On knowing police are chasing them, kidnappers abandoned car and Agastya at Chinagollapalem village at 7 pm.
According to police, Venu, Vinod and Raju belonging to Gollapalem village in Krishna district have kidnapped Agastya. One of the accused arrested by cops and special teams formed to nab another two.
