Minor girl gang-raped in Tirupati

Tirupati, September 2: When the entire village was celebrating Ganesh festival, a minor girl was gang-raped in KVB Puram mandal on Wednesday midnight. 
According to police, 14-year-old ninth class student of a village in the mandal along with her mother went to see Ganesh idols in the village. The girl went home due to stomach pain at 10 pm. When the mother returned at 11 pm, she didn’t find the girl in the house. After searching, she found the girl in unconscious stage near the bathroom in the house at around 3 am on Thursday. 
The girl told her mother that the accused Selwam, Guna and Ashok abducted her when she went to bathroom. They took her to a nearby burial ground and beat her with a stick. When she fell, Guna and Ashok escaped and Selwam raped the girl. The victim said that later Selwam left her near the bathroom.
The victim’s mother filed a case on Thursday afternoon. Police said that they filed a case under Pocso Act. 
Meanwhile, there are allegations that the police are trying to deviate the case. It was pointed out that the police initially mentioned in the FIR that anesthesia was given to the girl and later wrote that the girl became unconscious immediately after beating her. Locals requested the higher officials to probe into the matter.
