NRI family installs Amitabh statue at home
Washington, August 30: An Indo-American family showed their love and affection on Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan by setting the actor’s life size statue in front of their house in New Jersey.
Rinku and Gopiseth, residents of Edison city, New Jersey, installed the statue in a glass box and it was unveiled by popular leader Albert Jasani. About 600 persons attended the programme and celebrated the occasion with fire crackers and dances.
Gopiseth, internet security engineer, said that Amitabh is like a god to him and his wife. He said, “I learnt several things from him. I got inspiration not only from his cinemas but also from his personal life. He is not like other actors. He reached the peak from a very low level.”
Gopinath said that the statue was manufactured in Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 60 lakh and transported to America. He further informed that Amitabh knows about this statue. The star is very humble by saying that he is not eligible for all this, the NRI added.
